Wild Things

I haven't seen the movie, but I heard a most charming interview with Maurice Sendak this week. He talked about the inspiration for the monsters (his relatives) and how scary adults can be to children. He also talked of a fifty cent copy of Robin Hood that he shamelessly begged for, and how the smell of that cheap paper, and whenever he smelled another book with that paper, it smelled like Sherwood Forest. Isn't that lovely? That's a true book lover, sniffing the pages.
