You can work with selected friends, or open your writing up to anyone. The best works get published and the contributors get royalties. I don't think it's for me, but it is an interesting concept. It might be a neat way for critique groups to leave comments on works. And there are some non-fiction projects on motherhood, teaching, and music that changed your life that look interesting.
